Continually read through the lines and then cover it up and try to repeat them back to yourself!. If you find that you're unconsciously cheating, get a friend to help!. If all else fails then record yourself reading your lines and listen to it when you go to sleep!. That should definitely work!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Terrible ideas all of you!!! Learning lines is the least important part of acting!. You need to ask yourself three questions: What happened the moment before, what do you want, and how are you going to get it!. Hopefully, answering the questions will give you the reason to say your lines!. also, listen to the other characters!. They will give you the reason to say your next line!. Developing the character is so important!! Physical traits, personality, and emotional traits are key parts!. Yield to the character!. Let it take over you and follow your instincts!. Take it by scene!. Read the scene over, then decide why you are talking and what you want out of the conversation (or soliloquy)!. If you are ever to forget a line, then staying in character is very important!. You can ramble on about anything if it is relevant until you remember a line that could keep the play moving forward!. Just doing the scene will also ingrain the lines in your brain!. So DO NOT sit there and say your lines over and over again, or listen to a recording of your voice! ask the questions, decide how you will act in the scene, and do the scene with the other characters if possible!. Try to put yourself into the Venetian world and live it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Separate the thoughts!. Go through it and put a line separating each different thought that the character has!.
also, make sure you know what he's talking about!. If there are any words you aren't sure about look them up!.
A lot of the longer speeches are in Iambic Pentameter!. This means that the lines will all be divided into pairs, or iambic feet!. The beat will go something like baBOOM, baBOOM!. Usually, the syllable that's stressed is the more important word, so keep that in mind!. also, if it's a speech that iambic pentameter fits into, but there is a line that doesn't fit it usually means that the character is upset and/or angry!. Shakespeare was very clever in that respect :)

I hope this makes sense, and I hope it helps!.

How do you learn school work the best!? Do you take notes then look at them or do you listen to them out loud!? Do you remember when saying them to yourself!?

Learn your lines the same way!. And do a little at a time!. Count the weeks until they must be learned!. Subtract a week for reveiw!. Now divide that number by your lines!. Learn that many lines each day!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

record yourself going over the lines and while you are sleeping play it over and over!. by the time you wake up just look over the lines and you will notice that u recognize the lines!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Remember the hardest words in each sentence!. Or the most awkward and then you will remember the sentence!. Read it over and over again then go on to the next line so on and so forth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I suggest just reading them through once or twice, then start learning them with movement!. Moving and Reacting to the words will help you remember them longer and not blank on stage during performance!.
