Hamlet is preoccupied with death because he is given the task in the first few scenes to kill the King of Denmark!.
The gravediggers are preocccupied with death because it's their proffession to bury the dead!. They think about it all the time!.

during the talk with the grave diggers there is much suspense and dramatic irony!.how soon will the truth come out!?,that the grave, on which hamlet is playing his wit and fancy as if it were a nameless grave,one of the many in the world,is in fact dug for his love Ophelia!?!.you see, he doesnt know that!!.the funeral procession enters,the rites are performed,then laertes words reveal to hamlet that its Ophelia who is to be buried here!.his shock is evident in his words,What,the fair Ophelia!?!.thats my scope on the grave diggers and hamlet scene!.bye!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
