try a little research into the 19th century marriage roles!.!.!.and it would probably help to read a doll's house!. the play is set around 1870s and was considered quite rebellious at the time b/c nora leaves torvald at the end of the play!. the titanic (movie or actual boat!.!.!.probably the movie!?) sunk in 1912!. this was around the time where it was a bit more excepted for women to think outside the box of typical gender roles assigned to them by men in the earlier century!. the oppression was starting to get to them, especially in america!. here we had women starting to take on what was previously considered male-only roles and therefore challenging the national law!. just to give a time line, in 1920 women earned the right to vote!.
