Question: A good audition song for Christine in Phantom!!?

Im a High School junior, and I'm in need of a great audition song for the role of Christine in Phantom of the Opera!. My school is huge, so it should be a good show, and last year, we did Sound of Music and i got the part of Liesl, so i have a chance, but i need to nail the audition!.We aren't allowed to audition with any of the songs from the musicals we did in the last two years which were:
High School Musical
Sound of Music
Annie
Guys and Dolls

I agree with Poor Wandering One from Pirates of Penzance, plus it goes up to a high E-flat at the end, which Christine also needs to be able to hit!. THis would be a great choice!.

BTW, Habenera is a beautiful song, but is not for soprano's!. Carmen is a mezzo role and Habenera is low and musky and does nothing to show off the type of voice needed for Christine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ok i rally hope u get the part and that this is of some help , Don't for get that that The phantom is a dramatic and thrilling Opera spin chilling , so pick a song that reflects that , here are wot i sagest Memory from cats or Frozen BY Madonna !. the song you pick should mine some thing to you , give you goosebumps when you sing it !. wot ever you pick sing it unaccompanied !.

well get good at it find the dreamer teacher and ya music Thacher , get them to sagest some vocal exercises to tran u to go Hi er !.

I presume you're one of the lucky few schools who has been given permission to do the schools' version of the show!? Otherwise, you're breaking all sorts of copyright laws and will very probably get sued!.!.!.!.anyway!. I think I'd be looking at one of Mabel's songs from "Pirates of Penzance" - she has a similar range and voice type to Christine!. The suggestion of one of Laurey's songs from "Oklahoma" isn't bad, but it's not brilliant in terms of being similar in style!. Other Gilbert and Sullivan songs could also work for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are a soprano so I would do any of Laurie's songs from OKLAHOMA!. People will say were in love, is a beautiful song!. My Fair Lady is good too!. I have 100 songs but not enough time or space!. I have done community theater for 34 years now and have choreographed for about 30 of those!. I've done Guys and Dolls like 6 times! We did HSM this year!. I would love to see you in the lead role!. can you sing a song from phantom!? if so think of me is a really good choice because it really shows the range that you can sing in!. I sang it for a broadway audition and got the role!.!.if u cant sing a song from phantom look through some french or italian renaissance songs, many of which show range and are beautiful!.

You could do a song from The Wizard of Oz, Or from Oklahoma!. You could just sing one from the Phantom of the Opera!. anything that will show off your range!. but do not suggest singing from phantom because you want to show your versatility!. any classical song that you can sing would be good!.
