like my mom wont take me to see an agent or anything!. she tells me to wait after college but i'm 14 and i REALLY wanna do it now! what should i do!? i dont think she understands how much i really want this even though i talk about it alot, help please!?Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: the first thing you should probably do is join the school drama club or audition for plays prove to your parents that your really want this then maybe you should find a acting school to help develop skills and agent is not really necessary right now maybe if you have enough experience in acting maybe you should try auditioning for small parts and keep working hard Www@QuestionHome@Com An agent is not the first thing you need and you as a novice actor would be of no use to an agent!. They only make money when you work and you won't earn any jobs over kids who've been doing this longer than you and who have solid resumes!. First thing is to join your drama department at school and learn the craft of acting!. Second is to pick up some books on the business of being an actor!. The industry takes a lot of dedication and sacrifice and even then the failure rate is high!. Your mom is right, it would be a better idea to build up to it, go to college and pursue it afterward!. There are dozens of bad agents out there looking to take advantage (both finacially and sexually) of a naive 14 year old dying to be an actress!. Get involved in school plays / musicals!. Odds are a credible agent wouldn't take you with no experience anyway!. You need some experience!. Look into auditioning for community theater - it's also good experience!. Talking about it, and not doing anything won't help you!. Neither will seeing an agent; you need to DO something to show your'e serious and not just a teenager addicted to drama!.
