I will take only courses, I don't want to major in Theatre!. And what non-college Acting schools would you recommend!? But there is something about your question that bothers me: If you want to become a "serious actress", why don't you want to commit yourself to a major in theatre!? I'm not suggesting that you can't realize your dreams without it, nor do intend that question as a criticism!. It's just that it seems to me that you'd get farther faster with the additional training you'd receive!. If I were a casting director, and I saw 2 women of nearly equal talent, nearly equal experience, both of whom "looked the part", and I had only that one factor to make my decision on, I would assume the one that got the degree was the more dedicated of the 2!. I know that wouldn't necessarily be true, but that would be the impression I'd get!. Frankly, she'd win the role!. I don't mean to tell you your making a mistake!.!.!.only you can make that determination!. But I wanted to offer some food for thought, in the hopes that it may be of some help!. There are acting schools in most cities where there are various classes available (auditioning, improv, scenework, stanislavski, meisner, etc!.)!. You can learn a lot just from the auditioning process as well!. If I were you, I would look for a local acting school that offers classes!.
