Question: How can I change this Romeo and Juliet verse into modern day language!? !?
Romeo: When the devout religion of mine eye
Maintains such falsehood, then turn tears to fires,
And these who, often drowned, could never die,
Transparent heretics, be burnt for liars!.
One fairer than my love! the all-seeing sun
Never saw her match since first the world begun!.

Benvolio: Tut, you saw her fair, non else being by,
Herself poised with herself in either eye,
But in that crystal scales let there be weighed
Your lady's love against some other maid
That I will show you shining at this feast,
And she shall scant show well that now seems best!.

Romeo: I'll go along no such sight to be shown, But to rejoice in splendour of mine own!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't get confused by the religious metaphors in the first speech!. It's just some poetry, and it has to be taken in context of what came before it!. "The devout religion of mine eye" means he's spent ages staring in adoration at Rosaline, and "these who, often drowned, could never die" refer to his own eyes---in other words, "often drowned with tears", because he's been weeping over his rejection by Rosaline!. "Turn tears to fires" and "be burnt for liars" refer to his eyes, not to the church or heretics!. So what he's actually saying is along these lines:

Romeo: If my sense of sight has deceived me, then let my tears turn into fire, and burn my own eyes for heresy (or "if my eyes are lying, they should be burned in their sockets")!. There has never been a woman under the sun more beautiful than the one I love!.

Benvolio: Pfffft!.!.!.you only thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world because there was never anyone prettier nearby her!. You need to get out more!. I challenge you to compare her to the other ladies at the feast tonight!. Your girl doesn't stand a chance against some of them!.

Romeo: You won't be able to show me a prettier girl!. I'll only go to prove you wrong, and to be able to enjoy the sight of my Rosaline again!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

line 6: never saw some one else as beautiful as herself

Benvolio: Ha, you saw her beuty, matched by no one else, in love with herself but let beauty be weighed!. test your love for her against another and i will show you shining in the spotlight and she cannot tell you well what is best for you

Romeo: I'll do no such thing!. But i will rejoice in her beauty as well as mine!.
