Question: Help with the glass menagerie Acting- Amanda!?

i recently was cast as Amanda in the glass menagerie and i really want to know how i should act!. i mean, i auditioned for Laura and nailed it but then the producers cast me as Amanda so i don't really know how to act as her!. i mean i know the character, a grumpy old lady!. i just really need help so i know how to play the part well!. thanxx!

Amanda is not necessarily a 'grumpy old lady'!. She is a tiger with her cubs!. She also fiercely clings to the past!. In her eyes, she is doing what is best for her children!. She wants their dreams to come true!. She certainly wouldn't be the first parent ever to live vicariously through her children!. She is a proud woman who finds it hard to let go of the past, where her own dreams slipped though her fingers!. She doesn't want that to happen to her beloved kids!. No character ever sees themselves as doing wrong!. Just like us, they are doing their best!. I always thought the key to her was the fierceness with which she meets life!. She's a fighter, and not about to give up!Www@QuestionHome@Com
