Hi there,

Are you currently in any acting programs!? Either School Acting class, Drama Club, or any Theatre Troupe or Acting Studios around your area!?

If you are new or have no backgrounds in acting, there is really no way you will get invited to a legit Film/TV audition!.

By getting yourself involved in the world of acting, you will hear and learn more about auditioning process!. Instead of aiming to major Hollywood Film productions, why not focus on what's local in your area!? I'm sure there are some local theatre company that would produce at least 1 or 2 shows a season!.

Participate in local theater and school projects!. Actors work all the time (pay/non-pay), we are constantly learning, studying, and working on various projects that allow us to:

1) Build Our Resume
2) Gain Experience
3) Improve our skills

It is at your classes or workshops, that you will learn more about the business in acting!. Develope your own network, or even, from your classmates, you'd get a referral to see their talent agents!. - But do as much work as you can - audition for location theatre productions, student films, indie films!.!.!. you name it!. This will help you develope a good actor resume!. (A resume lists your contact information, projects that you have done, your training background and special skills)

You will also need a professional headshot!. I would just suggest you to find a friend, with a good camera and take a neutral photo of you from the shoulder up!. (Do not spend $500+ for professional photos, unless you're already in the Union and have done a bunch legit works) As a starting actor, a good quality headshot is enough!.

If you are constantly working, and be seen at theatrical shows!.!.!. People will start recongize your face and name!.!.!. Eventually, You will get discovered!. (Some Talent Agents do attend shows, so you never know who you will meet)

As for Mamma Mia - the casting was done the Actors' Talent Agent submitted them via Breakdown Services - and actors who passed the first screening were invited to audition!. I don't recall an open casting call for the film - so, you really need an Agent to submit to a project at that level!.

Actors that get to audition for films like Mamma Mia or High School Musical, are members of the Screen Actors Guild which is a union!. Joining this union is quite difficult and it means you had to have worked in quite a few other union film or tv projects, in essence earning your way in!.

There are many, many actors auditioning for any given role in a film like Mamma Mia, the competition is very steep and full of actors with incredible resumes or bodies of work!. These are the actors agents want to represent because they've paid their dues and are either marketable or at least recognizable for earlier shows or films!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well first it's a good idea if you get an agent, if you search for some online then you will probably find some!. Agents are free until they find you work so don't fall for paying for one!. Agents will find you auditions but you can get some without them!. If you go on the disney website there is an auditions page and places where they are holding the auditions!. Do you have training in performing arts such as singing lessons, theatre studies lessons or drama lessons, because if you don't it is quite unlikely anyone will hire you unless your really good!. You can also search on the internet for up and coming movies you know are being made and find out were the auditions are held!.
