A legitimate agent will not charge you anything up front!. They take a commission from anything you earn from work that they get for you - so if they don't get you any work, they don't cost you anything!. If an agent wants money upfront (for ANYTHING - classes, headshots etc etc), it's not legit!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, they're not!. Reputable agents --- at least in America, but I'll assume that this is true everywhere --- shouldn't charge anything!. The agent gets paid if you get paid (depending on the agency and contract, the agent would be paid a commission of 10 - 20% of what the actor is paid)!. Any agent who requires you to use a specific photographer for your portfolio, or take classes through his agency, or wants any kind of fee up front, won't do anything for you but take your money!. Anna D is correct!.!.!.!. agents should not ask for any money upfront from you!. They may suggest taking classes or getting better headshots taken, etc but you would never pay THEM for these services!.

Now there are things to consider in terms of "expensiveness" when chosing an agent!. All agents will take commission off the work they get from you but they each charge a different percentage (usually between 10%-15%- at least in the U!.S!.) I would definitely take that into account when you are looking for someone to represent you!.

Best of luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
