Question: What song should I choose for an audition!?
I'm 14, sing soprano and alto, and I'm auditioning for Babes in Toyland!. I'm not looking for a specific role because I don't know the show that well, but I need a song to sing!. I can have musical accompaniment or sing acapella!. I want a song that shows off my range with highs and lows!. Please, if you can possibly think of any song tell me the name and artist if possible, and I can hear it on youtube!. Auditions are Sunday the 12th so I really need to find and rehearse a song asap! Thank you SO much!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on what you want people to see:

If you want to highlight your emotional capacity, sing "Somewhere" from the West Side Story!.

If you want to showcase your incredible range, sing "Unbreak My Heart" by Toni Braxton -

and if you want to show your Broadway style, I would sing " What I did for Love" from 'A Chorusline'

My advice is to sing WITH an accompaniment CD!.
Try: I'd do Anything From "OLIVER!"
That's the audition song I use!.
And I landing 3 lead roles in a week with it!
Another good one is: Philosophy from "You're a good man Charlie Brown"
Or: Do Re Mi From "Sound of Music"
Or: My Favorite Things from: "Sound of Music"
Or: Whatever will be will be from "The man who knew to much"
None of these songs are overdone!.
I'm 13 and I do them all the time!.
Whatever you do don't sing a Modern song!.
(Pop, rock, etc!.)
I hope this helps!
Break a leg!
Let me know how things go!
