First thing first, you need to build yourself a good and well rounded reputation!. If you check your local newspaper there are always auditions for local and small plays usually happening at a local college or community center!. These plays will not only help you get comfortable with performing and working with new and different people, but also be nice little extras to add to your resume!.

Next, multi-talented actors/actresses are big in the business now and days!. They want not only kids who are good at acting, but who can do a little singing and dancing as well!. So you might want to think about getting involved in singing and dancing lessons!. Or play an instrument and are involved in extra-curricular activities or sports!. They like to see fresh new young faces and overall healthy and active kids!. So you shouldn't be too concerned about losing 20 pounds!. Big is sorta in these days!.

Next, it's also important to build up your name!. You want people to not only know Alyssa Robinson for acting but for also charities, community service projects, and other educational ways!. Producers are very interested in smart kids who can think on their feet!. It's also nice to have background on your name for starting an amazing charity to help special ed children or for a deadly disease!. And community service at a local hospital or animal shelter is easy and a nice thing to add in when going for an audition!.

Next, producers like people who are presentable and will represent their show or play in a mature manner!. They don't want erratic kids who will run around and go to parties and get drunk!. They have to know that you are serious about your work and committed and it's important that you do your best to show this!. Trust me, it's pretty easy for them to cut you from the show once they see you are getting too out of control to handle!.

Lastly and importantly, have fun and be a kid!. Don't try to grow up to fast in an audition!. Producers love original and down to earth kids that people at home watching can relate to!. So just be yourself and be unique!.

--Please keep in mind this can be a very long and frustrating path!. It will be a lot of hard work and usually takes most young stars years before they get their first big break or are even recognized!.

I hope I helped!. Any questions!? Just message me I'll be happy to answer =]Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I hope you get in lots of plays at school and in the community, because experience is more important than classes!. It is most unlikely that you will get an agent, because it is terribly difficult to do!. You have to be someone they think they can make money on!. You do not start by getting a commercial, that is a wrong idea that so many youngsters have!. Commercials are the top of the line roles, not the starting ones!. You have a long journey to try to become an actor, it takes years and years, and you cannot to a thing, get an agent or a job without your parent's signature!. You need to get a book called Acting as a Business by O'Neil and learn about getting agents and head shots and resumes!. Ps!. Take those photos off the net, they are not going to do you any good at all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Slow down, slooooow down and breath!. This is going to be more like a marathon, not a sprint!. Leave your preconceptions at the door as well, like having to book a commercial before anything big happens!. There simply is no cookie cutter way!. For instance, I personally have actor friends who can't book commercials to save their life but are somehow able to book guest spots and recurring characters on TV and vice versa!.

The one thing you can count on is the business will be tough, very, very tough and I suggest you really find the joy in acting because the business side will wear you down!. It wears everyone down!. See link and blog entry for June 17, 2008

(edit) Landing commercials is very, very difficult and hyper competitive because they can be more lucrative than most tv work especially for non stars or non recurring role actors!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
