Question:

Okay, the deal is I wanted to know something!. Have any of you had an audition where you have to fly by plane to get to the audition!?

For example, Say you live in another country and you want to audition for something in!.!.!.say California, LA!. If u get accepted for the audition, and u live in another country, do they tell you to come to California, LA to audition no matter where u live!? Or do they have auditions at several places and u go to the place of auditions closest to you!?
also, do they pay for u to come, i mean fly over to the audition!? Or half!? Or not at all!? I don't know anything about this!. Please help as i want to audition but don't know how this works!.

No!. Casting directors do not fly in out of town actors for auditions!.In fact, agents in Los Angeles represent actors based in LA!. If an actor leaves town for any reason then that actor is "booked out" and unavailable for the time period he or she is not here!. In those cases the actors professional reel may be sent over for the producers or directors to look at!.

Sometimes movies do statewide cattle call castings and in those instances the casting offices are going from city to city and holding castings that you generally hear about on the radio or in advertisements!. Some of the Harry Potter kids were found this way in the U!.K!.

So!. If you want to be an actor in LA then you need to commit to moving to LA and making your living in LA!. This means waiting until you're an adult and capable of working a full time job to support yourself while you pursue your career!. Or, it means your family moving to Los Angeles which some families really do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
