Can extras be discovered?

Question: Can extras be discovered!?

I just registered to be an extra for films tv and other episodic shows!. Do you think this is one way of being discovered!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Extra work is a great way to get your feet wet and experience how a set functions!. "Discovery" of any actor happens over a period of time, usually years of dedication and hard work!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, this is not a good career plan!. Being an extra will give you experience on a set, so you can see how things work!. There is sometimes a chance an extra will be upgraded to a line or two, but even then, that's not a "discovery!." Www@QuestionHome@Com

It can be a good way of getting to know the way a set works etc!., and there is the slight chance that you'll be in the right place at the right time!. However, do be careful of becoming pegged as doing only extra work!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yeah!. but it takes a little longer!. and there is a better chance of getting the role of "extra" but hm!.!.!. not worth the time and money to get the job in my opinion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
