Question: New york accent help!?!?!?

i might try out for the part of Adelaide in the school production of Guys and Dolls!. but i cant get down her accent! its sort of a new york accent so pleasee help! maybe if u could give me links to good sites that will help me or just give me lessons on here :D thanks a bunch!Www@QuestionHome@Com

add an "oi" type sound to you words like for example

Watch The Sopranos, with the picture turned down to dark, so you only hear the accents!. Accent usually comes AFTER you have fully discovered the character, so focus on *that* rather than the accent at this stage!. Really get to know the part, and ask yourself what traits of truth you can bring that no one has done before!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

if you no what a new york accent sounds like then you could just try practicing over and over again!. If you find good sights go onto them and try your hardest
