Question: Acting Auditions!? How do you get them!?
So here's my question, my best friend and I are going to LA next fall, and we have always thougt it would be cool to be actresses!. Well, we figured, since we are going to be there why not try out, just for the fun of it!. We don't have any high expectations or anything!. But what I am wondering is, how would we find auditions!? How do you do it!? Are there websites with casting calls!? Do you need an agent to audition, because like I said, this is really just for fun (if something comes from it, then yay) !.!.!.thanks for any help or advice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its the trade paper that lists all the open call auditions in LA (and more)!.

In the description, it should say whether or not they're seeing union actors!. Many times they'll only see SAG/AFTRA actors first but if they have time left over, they'll hear non-union people!.
These cattle call auditions can be pretty brutal, though!. Going in without an agent is tough but not impossible!. Just be willing to spend a lot of time waiting and do what you can to get noticed!.
Alternatively, theatre auditions are pretty similar
If you're not in Actors Equity, you still have a chance of being seen but you just have to camp out and hope that the casting director will see you after they see all the Union people first!.

Unfortunately landing auditions is a very difficult thing to do even for professional actors!. The TV shows and films you watch all the time fall under two professional unions!. SAG and AFTRA!. Without you two being in those unions you really have no shot of getting or having the kind of representation that would get you an audition time for any one project!. Not only that you two don't have any kind of resume, no headshots, basically none of the tools a professional actor uses to conduct business!.

Best bet is to take a tour of the Warner Bros or Universal Studio lot!. It's a pretty long tour and you'll get to see all kinds of sets and projects in action which will give you a better idea of what goes on behind the scenes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You sound young--so I will start out by saying this--don't go to an audition alone!.!.if you get the part bring someone with you--to many casting "couches" and women can be vunerable!. If it sounds to good to be true it probably is!. Check out with your friend on modeling and acting--ask your parents or loved ones if they know of any legitimate people out there-do your research!.!.!.check your gut-if it doesn't sund good don't do it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
