Question:

Hi; I have recently moved to Canada from england in order to live with my partner!. I am an actor!. Now that I am living in Canada I cant fully continue my carrer!. I dont really want the choice (although I know i may have already made it) of giving up the passion of my life to be with the love of my life!. Is there any way I can continue to advance my acting career in Canada (you might have guessed that i dont have a work permit - im currently here on holiday)!. I know I can do amateur, but that isnt really advancing my career!. any ideas!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Even amateur work, if taken seriously can at least help you to hone your skills!. I understand that it may feel like a step backward though!.

I don't know how canadian law works but you might want to work on getting a work permit, if you can!. Otherwise I don't really know what to tell you!. You can't take professional work without a work permit!

Perhaps you shouldn't have gotten married to someone who couldn't accept your career and help you with it!.
Sounds like a selfish person to me!.
As for work in Canada, you can't expect to get a 'real' role without a work permit!.

There's still lots of acting in Canada!. Esspecially in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary!. If you live anywhere near there, you should find something! I'm an actress and I'm from Alberta and Saturday I have the biggest audition in my life that could make me famous and move to L!.A!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
