Question: Good broadway play for date!?
what's a good broadway play to see this October!? I'm taking my girlfriend out to the city and I want to surprise her by taking her to a show(among other things)!. I've looked into Avenue Q and Thirty-Nine Steps and they both look entertaining and funny!. Any suggestions!?

And no Lion King, she's already seen it!.

Thank YouWww@QuestionHome@Com

Both Wicked and Ave Q are really good suggestions!.

Wicked - It's fun, and touching show!. I don't feel much "romantic" vibe from it (it does have some romantic moments during the show) but over all, great music, beautiful design!. Worth the $$$!.

Avenue Q - Sick, Twisted, with a bunch adult-jokes!. You will laugh until you burst into tears!.

Monty Python's Spamalot - Similar to Wicked, if you and your girlfriend have seen the movie version of Monty Python, then you guys will get a kick out of this musical!. I ran out of breath from laughing when I attended the show's premiere!.

If you ever want to consider Off-Broadway shows, then I'd suggest Altar Boyz!. (It's a mock Christian Boy-band on Concert show)
The show is funny as heck!. You get great MUSIC, lots of dancing (featuring Neil from So You Think You Can Dance Season 4), singing, and witty humors!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd say Wicked is a winner anyway you look at it!. It's based off the familiar story of the wizard of oz, but with a twist---the wicked witch!? yeah, she's not so wicked!.

Its got comedy, romance, and an inspiring message!. The special effects are amazing as far as Broadway shows go, and you don't even have to worry about splurging for a good seat, Wicked is a show where FURTHER AWAY is better!.

Hope you have a great time!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Avenue Q is a great choice!. Wicked is always sold out, so be sure to buy your tickets ahead of time (if you go of course)

If BOTH shows are sold out, then Jersey Boys also works!. So does Mamma Mia!, Grease, Gypsy, and/or South Pacific!. If you like dark stuff, Phantom is good but I don't know how appropriate is to make a girl cry on a date!.

Just don't take her to see Equus!. ;)Www@QuestionHome@Com

If your girlfriend has a slightly off-colour sense of humour, Avenue Q is an excellent choice!. I haven't seen it on stage, but videos I've seen of Tony performances and the songs are hilarious!Www@QuestionHome@Com
