Sometimes they do get scratched up!. Jackie Chan has broken soooo many bones trying to do his own stunts, and stage actors occasionally have accidents that are difficult to cover!. I played Petruchio in Taming of the Shrew and before our fight scene began, Kate would walk towards me and give me a slap!. I rolled with it, of course, but we didn't try to fake it because the audience was so close!. Well, one night, Kate tripped on the hem of her dress and instead of slapping me on the cheek -- which makes a really good sound but just a little sting for a few seconds -- she was off balance and landed the slap on my jaw bone!. Not only did it not make a real impressive sound, but I literally saw stars! It was all I could do to finish the scene and then whe we both exited she was waiting for me backstage going "Oh, honey, I am sooo sorry! Are you ok!?"

It happens!. But our fight scene got applause!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The inevitable injuries of filming are covered by the use of stunt doubles!.

The inevitable injuries of childhood is sadder, at least according to former child stars whose autobiographies reveal that they were not allowed to play like regular kids because a bruise, scratch, cut, fat lip, or broken bone would negatively affect their careers!. This was especially true for child stars whose work supported the entire family!.

I don't know if that's true of the actors you mention specifically, of course!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Most of the time, the stars have stunt-doubles to do the dirty works for them!.!.!.!. If you have the chance to rent AEON FLUX (starring Charlize Theron), there's an extra feature called "The Stunts of Aeon" - you will see a stunt woman who looks very much like Charlize, doing all the falling, flipping, and difficult moves for her!.

If a talent insist on doing his or her own stunt!.!.!. they risk of getting injured and not being able to continue to film!. This can resulted in getting replaced with another star, the production will have to delay the filming schedule (which means, the production looses money), and other actors will have to change their schedule and missed out on projects that they could have done!.!.!.!.etc!.

So, yeah, Actors do have to make sure they take really good of themselves, and during the production period (ranges from days to months) - they will have to "LOOK" the same!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sounds like a strange question, but if they ever got scratched up, they can fix this with makeup easily for the small screen, or even the big screen!.!.!. so I suspect that they still got some bruises, but a little bit of cover-up and it'll fix it!.!.!.

I'm not good, or really that knowlegable in makeup for stage and film and yet I can clean up most of this stuff or create it myself and make it look real!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
