Most of the web sites out there that want money are bogus!. They will take your money and show you a lot of useless listings!.

If you want to act in TV and film you should get an agent!. It doesn't cost you anything until you get hired, then they get a commission, usually 10-20% of your pay!.

It's a good idea to start locally!. I'm assuming you don't have the means or money to just pick up at 16 and go to NYC or LA, so find local auditions for plays in the paper or google theatre auditions for your area!. Get involved in theatre at your school!. Research some colleges with good theatre programs!.

Deciding you want to act for the rest of your life is probably a much bigger (and more difficult) decision than you realize!. As someone who made the decision at about your age and just graduated college, I am realizing more and more what a difficult path I've chosen!. Everyone says it, but it's impossible to really understand until you're in the real word!. It's not just that you're going to face a lot of rejection!. You're also choosing a lifestyle that is very stressful and difficult to maintain!. Unless you're rich, you have to do something else to earn a living while you're trying to make it big!. Hardly anyone makes a living in the theatre, even the best actors, and your chances of becoming a film star are even slimmer!.

That said, you should still follow your dreams and do what you really want in life!. So if you really really want to act, and put all your efforts to that goal, you can make it happen!.

But don't ditch your education to become a star!. Try to find a college that will feed your creativity and boost your acting skills!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
