Question: Romeo and Juliet Monologue help!!?
Okay I am doing Shakespeare club well auditioning for it and I chose monologue A because its Juliet!. It says " O Romeo, Romeo! wherefore are thou Romeo!? Deny thy father, and refuse thy name; 'Tis but thy name that is my enemy; Thou art thyself, though not a Montague!. What's in a name!. That which we call a rose!. By any other name would smell as sweet!. Romeo, doff thy name, And for that name which no part is thee, Take all myself!." So she is talking to her self but whats in her voice!?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
she should speak in a determined voice!. She is pretty much saying "screw everyone, i love Romeo and that's that!." not exactly angry but she's not going to let anyone get in the way of her and her Romeo!. Near the end of the monologue though her tone takes a more love sick dreamy tone, while she's talking about Romeo and saying "take all myself"!. if this doesn't help try looking up the monologue on youtube to see how some different actors perform the monologue!.

Hope this Helps :) Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with the person above me!. And she is talking to herself!. Although, at the end of her supposed soliloquy, Romeo pops out of he bushes and surprises her!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
