Ive been going to acting schools for some years now but have ot dared to audition!. But whats good to start out first!? Ive been in plenty of extras but nothing major!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

What ever you do, do it because you love it, because you may never make any money acting!. Have a day job you plan on making money at for a long time!. Good luck!. Talent, training, timing and lots of luck = a lottery !. There are 1000 people competing for the same part!. Be happy to get any job acting!. It might take 10 yrs to get a good part and even then there are no guarantees!. If you have talent and the ambition and lots of luck you might, may be, could make a career at it!. Not trying to be a dick but "acting school" for some years is not quite a lot of "dues"!. Even say George Clooney had bit parts and lots of failure till he got ER!. There are a lot of great actors that have had some successes and critical acclaim and end up not "making it big"!. If you want to ACT and get better, try plays and other low profile (no / low pay acting jobs)!. How about characters at the theme parks!. Not kidding, you even say it, its a business and that means its a job, not glamorous or even that exciting or fun most of the time, it is work!. Don't plan on a star in a sitcom or movie any time soon (or ever)!. There are lots of actors that make a living doing small rolls and supporting parts!. What is the quote!? "There are no small parts only small actors"!. (BTW Steve Martin and Wayne Brady where both theme park employees and actors!.) If you don't LOVE it, than get a degree in law, medicine, science or business and get a real job if you want to make money!. Suggestion: Go on auditions (lots of them commercials or what ever) and good luck; hope you make it big!. You can always make a living doing something else; than you can act for a hobby in community theater!. You would do that if you loved it and had a passion for it!. If you want it just for big money and fame, forget it, chances are you will be disappointed if that is your goal!. May so called actors get into it the "business" for the wrong reasons!.
