The play "A Coupla White Chicks Sittin' Around Talkin'" is really funny!. There are lots of good scenes in "Steel Magnolias", too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For relatively older examples, I would opt for one of 19th century English novelist Jane Austen's books, including "Sense and Sensibility" or American writer Edith Walton's oeuvre set in Boston and New York City which have been adapted numerous times for stage and screen!. I might further recommend the Ridley Scott-directed cinematic release "Thelma and Louise" from the early 1990s or even scenes between Madonna and Rosie O'Donnell from "A League of Their Own" or the tortured and emotionally rich relationship of mother Shirley McClain and daughter Debra Winger in the tearjerker, "Terms of Endearment" which alternates between pathos and humor set against the inherently dramatic backdrop of the daughter's terminal illness, the mother's adjustment to it, and their rapprochement!. Lastly, Beth Hedley's "Crimes of the Heart", which I have seen portrayed at the movies and as community theatre in Covina,California
