Question: Need a Song From a Published Musical!. Help me please!? :D!?
Well, I'm hoping that I'll get picked to go to a theater competition and I know I have a great chance of going if I get a good, original song that has potential to win an award!. However I am having a tough time finding a song from a published musical!. Plus, my voice is an alto so it makes finding a female song a bit tougher than usual!. I'm 5'5, thin, and I sing jazz music for the local jazz band when they need a singer!. And if it is possible to direct me to a place where I can get a copy of the script that the song is from that would be so helpful!
Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Are you familiar with the musical Chess!? "Someone Else's Story" is a great alto piece that would work well in a self-contained format like in a competition or whatever!. "Stars and the Moon" from Songs for a New World is another great solo piece that would work well!. If you want something more upbeat, check out "Speaking French" from the musical Lucky Stiff; it's a riot, especially if you can manage to pull off the "blue spotlight" bit!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
