Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It's difficult to just say that a movie version of a musical ruins the show!. The movies have an advantage of producing what is a 2 to 3 hour Broadway performance in several months and on location, so the production is usually different!. I personally enjoy the stage productions more!. I have only seen one movie version of a Broadway show I thought was better!. But I have many friends who will argue the movies are better!. That doesn't mean I did not like the movie, just not as much as stage!. As far as musicals made from successful movies, again it's a different performance!. Music is added, but the story or book has to stay intact!. That usually makes the stage show entirely different, but not ruined!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Oh defiantly not!. Movies made out out of Broadway shows have been absolutely wonderful!. Some examples of Broadway Shows that were made into movies are: Cabaret, Carousel, Guys and Dolls, Man Of La Mancha, The Phantom Of The Opera, Oklahoma, Annie, Hairspray, and many more!.
