Question:

I'm thirteen and I've never acted before!. I have a good personality for it though because I've been told by people that I should act!. Now, I want to start to act!. I don't know where to begin though!. There is somewhere that I can take lessons but otherwise I don't know how to practice or what to do! I wanted to get some background information from the internet so any help will be appreciated!

i have been acting for a while, im about your age and its really difficult!. first, and for most , get acting classes!. this will take up to 3-5 years! Then you need to get an agent!. this is also very hard and can take a while!. then you need a resume and head shots!. Head shots are very expensive and can range anywhere from 300-1000$! agents should also never ask for money upfront!. when they get you a job, they will take 15% of your money as there profit though!. your agent will find you jobs!. you also have to stay physically and mentally fit for a better chance of getting a job!. dont dress up to well for auditions!. be yourself!. good luckWww@QuestionHome@Com

I've been acting for a while now, so hopefully this advise can help you!.

If it's dramatic/musical theater you're wanting to get into, then it would do you very well to audition for parts in local plays/musicals!. They are good for expierence, even if you're looking at going into movies!. And either way you go, you'll need lessons for acting!.

If you're looking at movie acting, then first you need to get a head and/or body shot!. Almost all movies you audition for require one!. Then it would be helpful to have an agent, they're the ones that find auditions for you!. They get about 10% of your salary, so if you earn $100,000 they would get about $10,000!. Acting lessons are again recommended!

Okay, this is easy! You need to start out taking classes at a theater!. Once you gain confidence, you can apply for an agent, and once you have representaion, you're on a role!

Your theater or people there can definately help you in finding a legitimate agent in your area!. A real agent will not charge you an up-front fee or demand you take expensive classes!. When going into an interview, wear your cheapest pair of shoes, then they'll know if you have money to burn = )

You can start by making your own comedy acts by hooking a microphone into a computer, and then talk in the microphone and record your voice using audio editing software!. Then just upload them to Youtube and see how good they do, along with other video sharing sites! I wish you the best of luck!! ;)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Rember that before this you need to spend at least $100 to $300 on PRO headshost, Now if you want to fail then you could get $20 at the neerist photography place, and you have to have a resume filled out!. some people dont even care about experince if they like how you look and sound then BAM you have a casting call !

And rember this takes time its dosent happen over night!. =-]
