Question: Help with auditioning for a high school play!.!.!.!?
I'm pretty used to auditioning for singing roles, because at my middle school I did it quite a few times!.
But! On tuesday and wednesday I'm auditioning for the play in my high school!. It's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (weird!)!. I'm really nervous and freaked out at the thought of it, so I figured that's all the more reason to try out!.
What are some good tips for auditioning for acting roles!? I don't know how well I can just be handed a bunch of words and read them on the spot with full character, and the thought really makes my stomach turn!.
also, my two older siblings are amazing actors, and at this school they were!.!.!.well!.!.!.acting "legends", so I've been reminded numerous times!. I'm the typical youngest in the shadow of two siblings!. It's harder than I thought, trying to do something I love that my siblings are way better at, and have already left their mark on!.
Any tips!? Please!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I went to acting school in new york city , and it was loads of fun!.

Before we even did anything , we did " acting " exercises!. They were strange to say the least , but they really made you let loose in terms of stage fright , or any other complication a person would have with acting in front of people!. We pretended to act like certain animals , we did improvisation ( which was SO much fun ) , and we went up in front of everyone and we just talked to our self :p

If you know what character you are auditioning for ,try to get to know that character so that you can make the best out of your audition!. Fitting in to character is hard , but it helps a lot :)

also , you could try to add some of your own attributes to the character as well :) Just to make it seem a bit more interesting!.

If you don't know what character you are trying out for , then just practice some exercises that will really help you put on your best show!. Loosen up before you go out there in any way you can think of!.

I hope I have helped :) Good luck!

Your siblings have left their marks, for sure, but a few years ago they were as young and anxious as you are today!. A few years from now, people will be talking about the mark that you left!.

If you're handed "a bunch of words" to read, do your best to pay attention to what the words mean!. The meaning and emotion of each line shouldn't be something you impose from without; it should arise naturally from the words!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
