Question: Auditioning and monologue question!. 10 points!!?
I need a one minute comic monologue for a teenage girl for an audition!. Just a question, when auditioning, is it ok if the person (you) talks to other people, and not the audience!? Like invisible characters!? Do you understand what I'm saying!? And if you wait for the other person to "reply" (a beat)!? Thank you very much!Www@QuestionHome@Com

According to the speech/drama teacher I had it is not only okay but it is what makes the monologue nore realistic!. If the audience is convinced that the person you are talking to is standing there invisible you probably did a great job!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have been told by experienced actors that it is better to look at the audience and not to an invisible person on stage!. If you are talking to another person in your monologue either pick a person in the audience or an empty chair in the audience, I normally look right above the persons' head!. Hope this helped!Www@QuestionHome@Com

i'm by no means an actor!.!.!.!. designer all the way!.!.!. but i've had my fair share of acting classes and i agree with the dude above me!. you're delivering a monologue and the focus is YOU!. you wanna make sure that you keep all eyes on you and your talent!. maybe you can edit the other person out!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
