Here's what I do:

Read the whole thing through once to get an idea of the whole thing!.

Split it up into little parts (one or two sentences at the most)!.

Start at the beginning!. Read and re-read the first part until it's completely memorized!. Repeat as many times as necessary!. Then include the next part, still starting at the beginning!.

Go through this process until you've got the whole thing memorized and can recite it quickly without stopping!.

Then you can go back and act it out properly!.

I find if you truly understand the character's personality and emotions, you memorize lines and monologues easier!. Try 'getting-into-character' and think the way you think that the character would think!. Create that character and bring him/her into life!. Practice with your friends but I find if you read it to yourself in the mirror it works best!. Add gestures to help you communicate the passage naturally!.

Good luck ^^Www@QuestionHome@Com

just memorize a line at a time!.
practice whenever you can!.
recite it in front of friends, family, strangers!.
or recite in front of a mirror so you can see your facial expressions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

How long is it!?
When I have to give a speech, I start from the beginning every time I make a mistake!.

This works for me, but others may have different techniques!.

Good luck and keep practicing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
