k i saw the play and LOVED it so you better do a good job, for deying gravity you'll need to hide some stairs for the character to climb and stand at the top, melting scene put a curtain in the way (like in the play) and have her sink to the ground but then turn the lights off that are behind the curtain so the character can run off stage, glindas bubble just draw bubbles in the background and have her walk in (low budget and small stage you gotta work with what you can) and glinda is better with blond hair and if you ahven't seen the play don't try preforming itWww@QuestionHome@Com

Wicked hasn't released the rights for it to be performed in school, so you'll be breaking the law :/
but besides that

I don't really think there's a way to 'defy gravity' effectively unless you have a big budget (the lifts used in the show cost between £500,000-£1,000,000), I saw one on YouTube where they put a black curtain over a ladder and she sang while standing on the ladder so it looked like she was flying lol!.
In the West End they don't have a trapdoor for the melting scene, so you could just do what they do and use a certain thing hiding Elphaba with a light so it gives that silhouette effect, and while "melting" you just gradually fall to your knees!.
I don't have much of an idea to do the Glinda's bubble safely I'm afraid :( - just use lots of real bubbles and walk on :D

And I think Glinda has blonde hair in the musical because it's trying to have that stereotypical popular girl look- like Regina George from Mean Girls!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

As the above poster said, the rights are not available for Wicked!. Your school would be breaking the law and could face serious penalties and be sued for a lot of money!. At this point Stephen Schwartz doesn't even allow more than 3 songs to be performed at a time from Wicked (meaning no concert versions)!.

I would strongly recommend choosing another show!. How about The Wizard of Oz!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wizard of Oz is the next best thing!.

And maybe you can toss in a few references to Wicked!?

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
