It was awful as I lost that feeling of enjoyment out of acting!. I took some time out but have been starting to do little bits and pieces of singing and have felt better again!.I am due to act again soon how can I overcome the nerves!? I really want to get the confidence back again has anyone else been through the same!? can you give me and advice please!. Thanks x x x Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well your not alone!. It happens to basiclly everyone even myself!!
These are some techniques you can try!.

Be familiar with the place in which you will speak!. Arrive early!. I usually suggest no less than 60 minutes before the start of your session!. Practice using the microphone and any other audiovisual equipment you plan to use!.

Know the audience!.

Greet your participants as they arrive!. It's easier to speak to a group of new friends than to a group of strangers!.

Know your material!.

If you're not familiar with your material or are uncomfortable with it, your nervousness will increase!. also give eye contact to your audience!.

Relax!.

Relax, meditate and if your spiritual minded then you can even pray!. However, you can do other things like practicing your smile and stretching your face muscles!. Don't forget to stretch those neck muscles too!. did I mention deep breathing!?

Believe that people want you to succeed!.

people want you to be interesting, stimulating, informative, and entertaining!. They don't want you to fail!.

Don't apologize!.

If you mention your nervousness or apologize for any problems you think you have with your presentation, you may be calling the audience's attention to something they may not have noticed!. Keep silent!.

I hope that I helped you and good luck with overcoming those nerves!

Kind Regards, Lucy! (;Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some nerves are really good for your performance but I had this problem until someone said to me!.!.!.!.'but it's not you out there, it's the character you are portraying!.'
After that it was great!.!.!.it just wasn't me being revered or criticised on stage, it was my character's problemWww@QuestionHome@Com

try not to think about that situation, put your hopes and dreams in your mind!. and heart, think about someone special in your life, to bring you, peace while you act!. and let what you belive in do the rest!. wish you luck in being the next super star!.!.!.!.and to add i havent been threw this but i know i will in the futher!.!.!. i admire any one with strenght to over come fears, you definely, have that because your trying again!. thomas !.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are not the only one like this a lot of well known stars are sick before going on stage,,i think if you didn't have these feelings you would not get the adrenaline to overcome these nerves Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well I started acting a few years ago and had stage fright when I started, and overcame it with time!. Basically, my motto is to just enjoy being on stage, and your audience will too!. The fact that you're going on stage, or being asked to be on stage, means that you're good enough for someone to want to see you!. If you're that good, then you're not really going to be making lots of clumsy mistakes!. If you make a mistake, so what!? You can just carry on singing or acting!. With acting especially a way of overcoming the fear of being on stage is just losing yourself in becoming the character (obviously aware that the audience is there for the purposes of projecting your voice and facing them) and not being concerned about any mistakes you yourself might make!.

Basically, just be really positive, and tell yourself that you will be fine, and you will! It's like affirmations in a way I guess!. Just pretend to be confident when you go on stage, and you most probably will be!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should know that this is perfectly normal! Most nerves are actually good because it means that you care enough about something that you want to do well!. You just have to focus on the scene, pretend that there's nobody in the room except you and your scene partner(s)!. This can be hard so if you find yourself only thinking about the audience remember why they're all there!. If it's a school function or something of that nature the reason most people are there (besides your family and friends) is to see their own children!. If you do well that's great but they are mostly focused on their child!. If this is not a school function then pretend everyone in the audience is deaf and blind!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
