Can you help me figure out what my musical is?

Question: Can you help me figure out what my musical is!?

My music director gave us some hints/clues!.

1) it was a musical then a movie OR a movie then a musical
2) There was a famous actor in the movie (she said it would give away if spoken)
3)the chorus would be in it (singing)
4)It isn't a broadway jr!. musical

take note that I'm in a middle school (7th and 8th graders)

I don't know if the rights are out for it, yet, but it could be Dirty Rotten Scoundrels!. John Lithgow was in that!.
