Question: OMG HELP! URGENT QUESTION! EASY TEN!!?

So heres the dealeo!.
I am thirteen years old and our community college needs people to play the roles in "The Night of the Living Dead!."
I have never acted in a real professional play before, let alone a horror one!.
I do not really know how the audition process works out!.
To audition, you must act a monologue for about thirty seconds to one minute!.

Actors--do you have a suggestion!?
And could one tell me the general audition process!?

**Please note, I live in a small town, so not many people are gaurunteed to try out!.

well if it's at a community college!.!.!.people from ALL OVER are allowed to try out so it's not a guarantee that it's just going to be from your town!.
the process can be nerve wracking!. just remember to stay calm and bring water to keep your throat moist!. the director usually calls people up one at a time to recite the monologue!. remember to be loud and project your voice to the back of the theater!. you want everyone to be able to hear you!. don't be afraid to get animated with your character!.!.!.usually the script has a brief character synopsis so if the director wants you to read so and so's character quickly look up the character and apply that to your audition (key is to keep your finger on the page where the synopsis is)
most of the time the director will call several people up at a time to see how you interact with other potential cast members with the script!.
also before you go look up about the play "Night of the Living Dead" so you can have a better understanding of the show!.!.!.or try and find scenes on youtube!. just be yourself when you introduce yourself to the director and remember its ok to be nervous!.!.!.just try not to let it show!.
one more thing!.!.!.practice at home!.!.!.if you can get your hands on a script early try practicing at home before you go! good luck! =]Www@QuestionHome@Com

simple:
(1) Go to the web site I've listed below
(2) Click on videos and trailers from the original 1968 movie, "Night of the Living Dead"
(3) Pick out a few short scenes that attract your attention
(4) Practice those scenes -preferably in front of others (for feedback)!.
(5) Select the one most fitting for your personality and acting skills
(6) Have a blast!!

Please note that this is a movie that wasn't high on "dialog," as such, be mindful of what you select for your audition monologue!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hey no sweat! I'm thirteen too and auditioned for treasure island!. I was scared but acting just came to me and I ended up being Long John Silver! Call and see if they give you a script, if they don't just find some sort of piece on the internet!. Practice and make it sound real (get in character) and when you audition you just have to show them that you can project your voice (make it loud), make it sound real, and be a convincing character!. You'll audition in front of a couple people, and when your done usually they get back to you! Hope that helps! Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, there's a patent device on the drinking fountain so that it never overflows, mother Gibbs, and it never sinks below a certain mark they have there!. It's fine!. (Her voice trails off and her eyes return to the funeral group) It won't be the same to George without me, but it's a lovely farm!. (pause, she looks directly at Mrs!. Gibbs) Live people don't understand, do they!? They're sort of shut up in little boxes, aren't they!? I feel as though I know them!. Mother Gibbs, when does this feeling go away!? - Of being!? one of them!? How long does it!?!? I never realized before how troubled and how!? how in the dark live persons are!. Love' from Romeo and Juliet
Character name: Juliet
Duration: 0 — 1 minute
Monologue Type: dramatic,classical
Notes: None

Thou knowest the mask of night is on my face;
Else would a maiden blush bepaint my cheek
For that which thou hast heard me speak to-night!.
Fain would I dwell on form -- fain, fain deny
What I have spoke; but farewell compliment!
Dost thou love me!? I know thou wilt say 'Ay';
And I will take thy word!. Yet, if thou swear'st,
Thou mayst prove false!. At lovers' perjuries,
They say Jove laughs!. O gentle Romeo,
If thou dost love, pronounce it faithfully!.
Or if thou thinkest I am too quickly won,
I'll frown, and be perverse, and say thee nay,
So thou wilt woo; but else, not for the world!.
In truth, fair Montague, I am too fond,
And therefore thou mayst think my havior light;
But trust me, gentleman, I'll prove more true
Than those that have more cunning to be strange!.
I should have been more strange, I must confess,
But that thou overheard'st, ere I was ware,
My true-love passion!. Therefore pardon me,
And not impute this yielding to light love,
Which the dark night hath so discovered!.

Oh- they will also ask which play you are doing and which scene!.
Here are more great auditions!. put in your age, gender, etc!. and it will come up with some scenes for you!.
