Question: Acting Agencies!.!. how do i know if there worth trusting!!?!!?
so ive been on the search
for a good agency because i want to become
an actress
i defenitly dont want to go to disney,
i want to show everyone im different!.!.!.
disney is the easy way to get famous,
and i dislike that!.!.!. i believe in commitment
and hardwork
so like i said!.!. trying to find an agency i can trust,
with my future career and that i can trust to find me
good auditions!.
my friends tried CASTING FUSION!.
but her parents think its a money scam!.
ive been trying to find something i can trust, and thats not a money scam
i need an agent also!!!

First!.!.!.and most important!.!.!.do your research!. Are you contacting agents, managers, casting agents, conventions, or schools!. I looked at Casting Fusion, which appears to be a middleman or convention, that includes training!. They are a school or convention!. Both cost money!. Someone mentioned John Robert Powers!.!.!.they are a school!.
Remember that everything in the entertainment industry is contractual!. Disney just shot a pilot in which they recruited trained, professional actors from respectable agents and managers!. Don't get caught up with people that say they can do things for you and don't!.
If you want to audition for Disney, you need a manager willing to work with you even if you don't live in LA, or you need to secure an agent and move to LA!.
I looked at the website for Casting Fusion, they list some of the agents they work with!. Go to yellowpages!.com and look up their addresses and send a tape of yourself acting!. Realize that this is a tough business and no one actor has followed the same path to success as any other actor!.

Most popular actors didn't just walk into an acting career!.
They waited on tables!.
Yes they had to do real work while trying to get bit parts!.
The lucky ones got seen by the right people and the rest is history!.

No offense to one answer but the waiting tables cliche is BS!. Some of us never set a place at a table in our lives!.
I suggest this, which none others have so far!. SAG, Equity, AFTRA etc!. LINKS then inquire about their affiliated, franchised agencies and agents!.

I'm with you on the hard work part!. I'm sure people who actually get on disney work hard for the movies and stuff!. But like you said, I think people take the easy way out now!. I want to be an actor too BTW!.
As for the casting agency thing, you really have to be careful!. I'm currently not with one right now, so I don't know how much help I'll be to you, but I've heard a lot of these well known agencies are scams!. I don't know how true they are, but I've heard that places such as "John Robert Powers" and stuff make you pay a ridiculous amount of money and they don't even really help you that much!. I have one friend who is with them, and she said she paid like (And I'm not entirely sure, I kind of forget), but ti was something like $5,000!? And she got classes and stuff, but I think she said it was stuff she already knew!. If I were you, I would do some major research before jumping into anything!. Ask people who've been signed with these certain agencies, what their experiences were like and stuff!. Sorry if I couldn;t have helped more!.
