Question: Scenes to use for my acting class!?
Can anyone suggest some great scenes (from any play, doesn't matter if it's famous or not) of any genre for me to perform in my acting class!? I need the play, the scene, and who wrote the play, please!. I'm happy with any scene, as long as it's appropriate!

10 pts for best answer!.

Thank you so much!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The best scenes to do, I think, are ones that are actually from a collection of vignettes (short plays)!. I would suggest scenes from:

All In the Timing--by David Ives
The Dining Room--by AR Gurney
Marcus is Walking--by Joan Ackermann
The Good Doctor--Neil Simon

All of these are collections of short plays!. Most of them are about 10 minutes long, but you can always cut stuff out if that's too long for you!. All of them are hilarious!. I have seen all of these performed, and they are great!. There's a variety of number of actors in each scene, and even several monologues as well!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

well first of all it's going to depend a lot on a) how old you are and b) who your partner is and how old they are!.
Assuming you and your partner are teenagers-early '20s:
There are lovely male + female moments in the play The Rainmaker by N!. Richard Nash!. Particularly between Starbuck and Lizzie!.
Tennessee Williams has several short plays that can be shortened into a scene- Talk to Me Like the Rain, 27 Wagons Full of Cotton (Flora and Vicaro)
Barefoot in the Park by Neil Simon (there are several usable scenes)

If you're looking for something a little more classical you could try the Barrel Maker's Play from the York Cycle (Eve, Satan)
You might also consider looking into Harold Pinter, his scenes are very interesting!.
A wonderful female+female scene is the scene in Norman's 'Night Mother in which Jessie commits suicide!. (Jessie, Mother- requires a door)

I wouldn't recommend trying to act outside of your age range, and be sure you read the plays you will be performing from and do the appropriate character analysis!. If the margins aren't filled with notes you probably haven't done enough work!. You'll find yourself spending a lot of time in the library, but it's well worth it!. Make sure you keep copies of the monologues/scenes you perform, it will save you the hassle of trying to find new ones when you need to audition, etc!. I hope that helped, good luck :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
