I got casted into my first play (The Laramie Project) and I need help memorizing all of my lines!. Do you have any tips or ideas to help me memorize them better/faster!? IWww@QuestionHome@Com

Think about the play, and the context in which the lines are written!. Think about what else is happening in the scene, how your character is feeling, and the overall message that is being portrayed, instead of just the words themselves!. The lines will make more sense and really click with you, instead of just being words and sentences you're trying to remember with no real connection!.

Once that's done, practice practice practice! Read over the script a page at a time) for about 5 minutes, then give it to someone else, and have them test you!. If you start to say the wrong line, have them correct you immediately, so you don't inadvertently learn it the wrong way!.

And remember, 90% of the time, even if you screw up a little bit, as long as you can manage to deliver the idea of the line, the scene will get back on track no problem!. For example, "do you like potato chips!?", and "are potato chips something you enjoy!?" means exactly the same thing, Www@QuestionHome@Com

Memorizing ANYTHING, can be alittle tough!. Isugguest you repeat everything as many times as you can!. Eat alot of spanich&broccoli they improve and sometimes DOUBLE memorzation skills!. also once you practice your lines take a cat nap, and sleep on it!. It will help your brain memorize it better!. I did a project on the human brain&got a B+ so I think you can trust me(:Www@QuestionHome@Com

Read through the entire play once to get an idea on everything!. When you get to your lines, say only those out loud two or three times!. Then read only your lines over and over again until they are like a rhythm in your head!. Look and think of a trick or saying to remember tough spots!. Try to remember the basic ideas of the lines before you so you know when to talk!. Have a friend read everyone elses line and your read yours!. You should be rehearsing a lot, so it will be easy!.
Have a great show!Www@QuestionHome@Com

i do many things to memorize!.
One thing i do is type my lines over and over, also i record myself saying the lines and listen to it!.

also, think about the lines of the people before you and give yourself hints on what you'll be sayingWww@QuestionHome@Com

Stand in front of a mirror!.
Repetition,Repetition!.Repetition!!!

Then have somone else come in to read the other lines!.

No fast method, sorry!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Good suggestions above!. I would also add that as part of the process, memorize your cue line (the line just before yours) as well, so when you hear it it will spark your line!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
