yeah, that is just poppy garbage!. If you want to be a good guitarist, I would stay away from poppy music!.

go to www!.supersonic!.net and go to the lessons!. Learn your chords, chord progressions, and other music theory!. Learn the notes on the neck!.

If you need to, get a dvd like Fender Presents Getting started on Electric guitar (or acoustic) with keith Wyatt!. There you will learn different chord shapes, progressions, rhythm and lead styles and techniques!.

also, while you're doing all this!.!.!.learn some music appreciation!. Rock, Blues, country!. Don't shy away from the older stuff!. The older players are the best players!.
