What you need to do is leave time for your intro!.!.!.you have to remember that that takes time as well!.!.!.!.so at home time your intro!.!.!."hello my name is blablabla, and I will be doing a monologue from ___________ as the character __________" and see how many seconds that takes you!. Once you have that down see how much time is left over!.!.!.and that's how much time you have for your actual audition!. Because there's nothing worse than rushing your intro cause you think your material is too long, then they won't catch your name!. So I would leave at least 30 seconds for your intro, and plan your monologue/song length from there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

NO!. you want to pick something that is less than!.!.!.i would say, just to be safe, 2:30!. that way you have a thirty second grace period!. when you're auditioning, anything can happen!. i have a tendency to speed up but i know plenty of actors who slow down, or worse yet, forget and have to vamp until they remember!. the one thing you do not want to do is go over your time!. standard time is 90 seconds so under three minutes is plenty of time!. give yourself some time to work the monologue!. they're not going to not cast you because you didn't use all of your time; they're going to cast you based on how well you perform!. and if you're up there stressin because you don't want to go over, you won't be able to foucs on the piece!.
