Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I think that it could possibly be a good idea to send an email to the casting director if it is properly executed!. A casting director is just like any other person and would appreciate being thanked!. Be sure to keep the email professional and avoid it sounding personal!. Try not to be pushy, casting directors do not like when actors are pushy!. If you do send the thank you email, and you do not get the part, I would send another email to the director asking them how you could improve!. The advice of the casting director could proved to be priceless, and it is also a way to network!. If you are nice to the casting director you never know when they might contact you for a new project they are working on!.Www@QuestionHome@Com MOST DEFINATELY!!! unless they directly request that you not contact them, which i've had some do before!. i was raised southern and polite and i remember having to write "thank you" letters for almost everything! i like to do it because people have a terrible habit of not contacting you if they don't want you!. which is fine, but that leaves you on the fence and i don't see why it's so hard to cut and paste a letter stating "thanks" for auditioning but we're going in a different direction!. that being said, they don't have to do anything!. but thank you letters is a nicety that i adhere to to keep me and my audition in the heads of the people i audition for!. keep it very simple, try not to apologize for any mistakes you did, and resend contact info!.
