The best experience is just getting up on stage!. But - if you really can't get around yet, then I would start reading about acting theory!. It may be a little over your head at first, but you have to start somewhere!. I would check out (either by reading books, or even just searching the internet): Stanislavski (famous theorist and director) and Uta Hagen!. You can also look into basic theater theory, set, lighting, etc!. You have a whole world of information at your fingertips, and if you beef up on the theories, it will make you that much stronger when you actually hit the stage!. Good Luck! It's likely they'll be able to help you get in touch with bigger theatre companies when you develop your own skills first!. Audition for school shows and join the school drama club!. If there isn't one, volunteer to run one! If you don't get a part in school shows offer to help backstage, it gives you better insight into the "drama process" and may improve your own acting skills!. also it looks good on your job applications in the future!. Try to go to drama camps and clubs in the Summer too and go to the Theatre as much as you can so you can watch professional actors and take tips from them!. Sometimes people go with 'connections' and you may get discovered for something big!. also, if you take acting and drama classes and stuff you could get into a good theater collage and get a career from there!.
