The first person has it partially right!. There are only three ways of becoming an actor: go to auditions, go to school, or be magically discovered!. However, going to auditions is the best way to approach this!. Going to school will definitely help, but isn't at all required!. The chances of being discovered are extremely slim to nearly impossible, so I wouldn't count on that!.

Before you do anything, go to a few auditions and see what it is like!. If you are extremely nervous, it is okay, because you aren't going to get the part that you are auditioning for (though that would be a nice perk), but instead you are just getting the feel of it!. I can assure you that if you decide to be an actor, you will be spending a lot of time in the audition room, so go make sure you can be comfortable with it!.

After giving it a test drive, get some lessons!. I'm not saying go to college or anything, because that is way too big of an investment at this stage!. Get a few lessons, go to a few workshops (there are plenty of them), and then (if you aren't discouraged yet) go audition for small things, like small supporting roles or commercials!.

After this, what to do is pretty much up to you!. I recommend getting an agent (make sure it is a good one, or you will just waste your money)!. Go to college if you want!. There isn't a set road on this career choice!. If there was, it would be a lot easier and more people would be big celebrities!.

Lastly, don't be discouraged if you botch a lot of auditions!. If you go in the room and do your best (cheesy alert, but its totally true), then you have done your job!. If they don't pick you, it wasn't because your acting was terrible!. It was probably because they, say, already have a sibling role cast and needed an actor that looks like that sibling!. So what you have to start out with is this!.!.!.
1) Get into the drama class at your school immediately(if youare in school)
2) Drop by your public library and pick up 3-4 books on acting (and read them all ! but don't stop there, keep getting more and more books:)
3) Audition for all, and every performance venue at your school!. (the more experience you get, the better!)
4) Swing by a local community college and take a couple acting classes
5) start memorizing and working on (extensively) audition monologues
6) Audition for all of your local community theatre, and church performances etc!.!.!.
7) Talk to your parents (if you are still a minor) (if you feel you are a strong enough performer, and if you like acting) about helping you achieve a career in acting!.
8) Get some headshots done (nothing too expensive or flashy, just something clean and professional)
9) Find and audition for nearly all SAG or AFTRA approved talent agencies
10) and remember!.!.!. ACTING IS A VERY ROCKY CAREER CHOICE :D be ready for lots of rejection, criticism, hard work, and perseverance

First of all get as much practice as possible!. Enroll in a local theater production, do many performances and build up credits ( try and get involved in films as well, not really hollywood films, like school films) Build up as much experience as possible and maybe take singing lessons!. When you have done all that ( I won't lie, it will take a while) Try and apply for an agent from an agency, bear in mind if you are under either 18 or 16 you need parental consent!. Put together a resume and get a head-shot done on a professional studio and await a call back!. Then you have to audition and if you're good, STARDOM!. You are more likely to get an agent if you can sing!. Oh and you must choose a career in Hollywood or Broadway!. GOOD LUCK!!!!!! either be discovered, audition, or go to school!. the easiest would probably be audition, but only if you are really talented!. school helps a lot and lets you be good in all that you do instead of doing low budget acts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
