Well, for non-college schools, the best in the country, and the most respected are the Stella Adler Conservatory, the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, the Atlantic Acting School, KD Studios, New York Conservatory of the Dramatic Arts(a film acting program), the Neighborhood Playhouse, and Circle in the Square Theater School!. For college level, look at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, the Julliard School, Boston University, Rutger's University-New Brunswick's Mason Gross School of the Arts, California Institute of the Arts, Carnegie Mellon University, North Carolina School of the Arts(I personally don't care for this one but don't rule it out before you check it out), and SUNY-Purchase College!. These are in no particular order, but all award BFAs if you can get in and survive any cuts(Julliard cuts students who are unable to keep up periodically)!. For an acting career, having a BFA(Bachelor's of the Fine Arts) from a top school puts you ahead of the pack, and it is even better if you can get a MFA(Master's of the Fine Arts)!. Sometimes casting directors will only see actors with a MFA, and a MFA also allows you the back up of teaching since it is like a Ph!.D!. in other fields!. I highly recommend you do go for a degree at your age because it will allow for a longer and better career!. I am about to turn 28 and about to pursue a BFA program myself so at your age you really have no excuse not to!. also, on a note, you may want to find a proprietary directing or film making workshop(I don't know if you want to do stage or film), as it will help you learn the technical side so you can behave more professional at a rehearsal or on set!. If you want to be a stage actor, you will most likely be expected to do some of the stagework when in all but the biggest, most profitable shows, so classes on the technical side will only help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
