One interpretation is that Godot is a bilingual pun!. "God" of course, is an English word!. In French, the -ot suffix is the diminutive!. It indicates a small version of something, like the -ie suffix does in English, e!.g!. dog vs!. doggie!.

In this interpretation, the hobos are waiting for God, but their conception of him is too small, so he never arrives for them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
