Be yourself! Don't be nervous, they want you to do good!. They want you to walk in and be the perfect person for the role!. Be energetic and happy to be there!. Don't leave the room and realize you could have done better! DO AS BEST AS YOU CAN!

Don't think about the agents as agents, think about them as people!. Just meeting new people - show them YOU!. They know everyone's nervous too, and they'll take that into consideration!.

Be professional, do what is asked, and if you don't know exactly what they want from you, don't be afraid to ask!. I know one casting director said "Hey! Do you have a commercial for me!?" and (knowing I'm terrible at commercial acting) I said "Well, I've got a monologue if that's alright with you!." & he let me do my monologue!. Of course I didn't tell him I sucked at commercials haha!.!.

Be outgoing!. Be friendly!. Be yourself :D

Try really hard not to sweat it, don't get too nervous, I know one of my friends distracted me right before it was time for my audition - so I didn't have time to be nervous anymore!. It was lalala with my friend and then BAM audition!. And that's the first callback I ever got (& with CESD, pretty sweet!.) So my biggest advice is not to focus on the audition - focus on being real and being you and showing them that you're the bomb diggity!.

Email me if you want, too! I'd love to hear details on everything!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Calm down and smile!. Try to think of the opportunities that can come out of it!. It's not that bad and try to focus on your talents and why your doing this!. Don't think about being nervous!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I made the mistake of reading a lot into the first audition I ever went to for a play!. I was really worried about it and I didn't have any idea what I was doing, I couldn't take direction, and I felt rejected when I didn't get a callback!. Now I can't believe I was like that! Once you go to some more auditions, it won't be a big deal AT ALL!. Last year I often went to four or five auditions a week!. I got the part in some of them, but most of them, obviously, I didn't!. The thing about auditions that beginners don't realize is that it's not personal at all!. It really has very little to do with you!. Most directors/agents have something very specific in mind that they want!. If you don't get the role, it doesn't mean you weren't good!. It just means you weren't what they were looking for for that particular part!. They may call you back for another part in the future or recommend you to another director!. You just can't let yourself be too nervous and have to go into it thinking, If I get it, cool, if not, I'll go to some more auditions!.

Another audition tip, be willing to take direction!. If you get a chance to read a script, choose one way you're going to play the part the first time and make a strong choice!. But if the director says, "Good, now can you do that and be really happy", you need to be able to make that switch!. Most directors will do this, regardless of whether they liked it the first time, just to see what you'll do and whether you CAN play a role a different way!. On my first audition, I didn't know they would do this and it completely froze me because I had thought for a long time about the character and I thought the way I'd done it was really good!. When they asked me to switch and play it a different way, I got really nervous because I assumed they didn't like me and I wasn't really able to make the change!. If you're having trouble, don't force it!. Repeating a mantra in your head is a great way to make a subtle but strong shift in character without being phony!. That is, say the director wants you to seem happy, repeat in you head "This is the best day of my life" over and over while you read and it will automatically change the tone!.

Good luck! Remember, there are always more auditions!. Just relax, have a good time, and don't pin all your hopes on this one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
