Question: Getting paid for plays!?!?
Do you get paid for being in plays in urcommunity theatre!? If not where does all the money go from the tickets!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Most community theaters do not pay their actors!. Some musicians are paid (e!.g!. the rehearsal pianist) and the director usually receives a stipend, but the actors, stage crew, and others vital to the show receive no money!.
Where does it go!? Hehe!.!.!.where DOESN'T it go!? Part goes toward the rent for the space in which the play is performed!. Then there's costumes, props, lighting, sound, program printing, the rights to perform the show, script/music rental, and a slew of other things I can't think of off the top of my head at this point!.
Believe me, the money is well spent!. And just because you don't get paid with cash doesn't mean you won't be paid with compliments, flowers, gifts, and new friends!. It's a great experience!Www@QuestionHome@Com
