Question: Directing my 1st pantomime! need help/advice and more adult members!!?

Im directing this January panto for the Iver heath Drama Club (small plug there)

Are there any directing/producing bibles I should read!? Andy good tips on getting sponsors and encouraging more adult members !?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi!. Pantomime is a very difficult one to get right!. It has many layers and traditions!. Do not stray from the story!. Do find the right people for the roles!.(Be brutally honest) then let them help you develop the piece!. Add as much topical material as you can and change it when new stuff pops up!. "I don't know if I'm more nervous than a turkey at Christmas or Gordon Brown at election time"!. Do try to introduce a 'lovable' animal and have it come on again 'Accidentally' with a character catching it and taking it off!. Use as much tinsel, glitter and highly coloured costumes as you can afford!. Make it fast (No- faster than that) Think of what you can introduce as product placement!. Who will supply free sweets to throw to the children!? Which supermarket manager wants their name mentioned in the script with a plug!? Get those leaflets into every shop around!.
