Question: Am I an Alto or Mezzo Soprano!? Starting in the buisness!!!!?
Hey!
I've had a lot of trouble trying to find my range over the past couple years because like a guy my voice changes (but I'm not a guy)!.I can hit an f below middle c and hit an b above middle c and an a if im lucky without going into my falsetto!.

HELP!!! I'm looking in going into the "biz" soon (once I get my braces off :])!. I hear all the time that I'm a good actress and singer and its my DREAM to entertain people and be an inspiration to young people!. Oh yea, I'm 14 year old girl with soo much passion for theater and acting!.

also if you know any good broadway and/or pop songs that would be good for my range, if you could send those to, that be great! And please if you could send me any info on how to get an agent because its soo hard to find one online and I don't know any!

Thanks a bunch!!

First off, no one can tell you without hearing you!.

Secondly, you didn't give your entire range!. You basically told us your chest voice, but unlike guys who don't use their falsetto often, a female needs to have a usable head voice register and know how to balance between her chest and head (ie!. "mix")!. also, b is higher that a, so I don't understand your comment about being able to hit b and an a ,"if you're lucky"!. Do you mean the other way around!?

At any rate, if your chest voice tops out around an a or b, you're probably not a true alto since they tend to have pretty strong chest registers!. But again, impossible to know with hearing your and checking your ENTIRE range!.

However, saying all this, at your age, don't worry too much about your classification!. It sounds like you know enough that you're more comfortable singing lower things than higher things, which is a step in the right directions!. For musical theatre, just listen to all the cast albums you can!. Sing along with them and see which songs/characters fit your voice best and this will give you more indiciation to the direction you should be heading when auditioning and looking for audition material!.

Finally, get into some voice lessons!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wait until you get your braces off before starting "biz" but keep chasing tour dreams!!!.!.!!!.!.!!!.!.!!!.!.!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
