Question: Important modeling/acting SCAM question for everyone! PLEASE help!?!!?
ok, well my dream is to become a professional actress/model and ive already got the modeling thing going where i want it- now, dont u think in order to break into the acting world- you need to start small- maybe small production teams that are local or tiny indie films with people that have low budget film experience!.!.!.

well!.!.!. i found on one of those casting web sites that some people called "sinful casting production team" is doing a movie with about 7 roles in my area and they are doing casting calls!.!.!. well i looked them up and theres nothing really on them but other casting sites with the same post on there with a story about the movie theyre doing and a synopsis and characters and everything!

do you think its a scam!? or some sort of dangerous thing- cause i know theres alot of scams out there, but its not only asking for girls!.!.!. actually, its only asking for 2 or 3 girls parts and about 6 or 7 guy parts!.!.!. so i duno if i should trust this, ne one w/same experience!? help!Www@QuestionHome@Com

First of all, whether or not ANYTHING is a "SCAM" if you are a minor Parental or Guardian involvement is required!.

The suggestion about calling, or e mailing might help, but certainly some research into that ORG!. should be done, as well as ANY others OFFERING!.

THERE should NEVER be an UPFRONT money suggestion, no matter the agency!.

I do agree however that starting small is a valid notion, and certainly open auditions, casting calls in LEGIT venues and productions is a way to build experience, credentials, etc!.

Lately, I have seen at least 2 people asking about a production, even to the point of being advertised on You Tube!. In INDIE film, with an alleged budget of $600,000, yet as one young man continues to ask here, his latest Q regards that THEY offer NO script and that he has to create his own, IF he gets the job!?!?!?

Certainly going to a suspect casting call, should be something you investigate, and again, have a parent with you, which will be necessary anyway, if you are a minor!. A casting call, should never COST you more than time and energy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the truth is that anybody can have a 'casting group' for any independent project!. so just because there isn't a legit background doesn't necessarily mean it's a scam!. i'd ask for a contract, make sure there isn't an audition fee, and really just feel it out!. if it doesn't feel right or legit, it probably isn't!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You always know if it's a scam if they ask for money right up front!.When you looked them up they might not of had information because they're new and no one knows about them yet! Well I hope this helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hello :-)

Firstly, I would see if you could speak to somebody from the production team on the phone - just so that you can talk to them and find out more about what's going on!. Remember that this is most likely to be a genuine production, but there is always that chance that it could be a scam!.

If you feel more confident after talking to the person on the phone, then you could go along to the production but take somebody older with you just so that you've got the support there if you want it or need it :-)

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
