Thank you all! :-)Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You're going to get a lot of people answering Wicked and RENT!. I personally don't rate either of them particularly high - Wicked is technically amazing but had no heart or soul when I saw it (plus the music is not particularly original - listen to "Witches of Eastwick" which was written earlier - Wicked is extraordinarily similar) and I just don't really like RENT for no logical reason!. My personal favourites (there is no way I can choose just one!) are: - Sweeney Todd (it's an absolute masterpiece) - Company (yes, it has no plot, but oh, the songs) - Les Miserables (it STILL makes me cry every time I see it!) - Mary Poppins (it had heart, it had soul, it was joyous and it was fantastic fun, plus it looked beautiful and was technically wonderful) - The Producers (silly, ridiculous, over-the-top - and endless fun!) - Anything Goes (the songs are perfection) - Avenue Q (how can you not love it!?!) For the record, I'm not from the States - I'm a New Zealander who lived in London for a while!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I think it's a close contest between Sweeney Todd and Godspell, for these reasons!. Sweeney Todd has absolutely beautiful music, although a bit difficult!. It's a really original idea for a musical!. It has some terrific characters and a great plot!. Godspell also has some fun music to hear!. It's a really versatile show, since it can be set literally anywhere!. It could be done cheaply or very extravagantly!. I know this is a biased opinion, but the greatest musical ever written, and one which everyone should see, is!.!.!. RENT! THE best story and music combined in a musical, ever!Www@QuestionHome@Com I love the Broadway Musical Wicked!. It is amazing with great sets, characters, makeup and the best songs!.
