Question: What is the best way to start an acting career!?

is starting in Independant films a good idea!? is starting in commercials a good idea!? how do I get an agent!? how much do agents cost!? etc etc any advice would be great!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you shoudl do some classes!participate in plays! build up your resume! get an agent! do auditions! get headshots!

read everythign you see! and click on words in blue but not double udnerlined ones and i suggest that you sign up with alan baltes go to first site and look at right column it explains everything! he wont be an agent just help you out and its a one time fee of 30 dollars and totally worth it!Www@QuestionHome@Com

most people start out by taking acting classes!. alot of agents
casting directors and mgrs give acting classes!. it does not cost to find an agent!. the only money you will need to pay upfront is for your pictures or composits that you will take with you to each interview!. any place you can get in front of a camera is good experience like local theater, school plays!.
most people start in commercials as there are alot of commercials and you will be seen by alot of people!. all of the interviews are either going to be in so!. calif or new york so it would be nice if you were in one of those places!. if your in so!. calif get a copy of magazine called VARIETY!. anything to do with show business, agents, mgrs, acting classes, adutitions,
photographers, is in it!. for acting classes you pay per class!.
when they think your ready they will send you to an agent,
agent only get paid when their clients get work!. they get 10%!.
when you get your first job you will have to join sag!. you don't need to be in sag to get an interview!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
